It's like a switch got thrown and almost overnight full-on spring arrived in our corner of the Southern Appalachians: spring wildflowers just positively bursting everywhere, went from virtually none about yesterday to tons of butterflies, bees, wasps, and other insects flying and hovering about today, the forest is just filling with color and life. Without fail, when we reach this point in spring I feel giddy, the same as I did as a kid, it's just about the most exciting time of the year, every new species encountered blooming is like opening a present under the Christmas tree, or seeing an old friend after a long time apart. #wildflowers #cloudlandcanyonstatepark #georgianature #spring
